I never owned a vest until I got one of these with a company logo at work. I loved the vest so much that I bought 2 more to wear outside of work. It works great over flannels, and sweaters and is warm enough as an outer layer on a chilly day, but is still lightweight and not heavy feeling. Definitely a great vest for everyday use!

As a large chested Lady, I find the men’s large a perfect fit. It goes great over a light hoodie and fits just shy of too snug over a heavy hoodie. It’s perfect.

It is an amazing vest. Perfect for layering or wearing as an outer layer on chilly spring mornings or just a piece of style. Fits great with lots of pockets. Very durable but super comfortable at the same time. Definitely recommend!

I have had the rain defender jackets for years and absolutely love them. they are an extremely versatile year round jacket. The decided to try the vest this year and it has lived up to the rain defender reputation. Love it. Will be buying a 2nd one soon.

This vest is a perfect blend of versatility and comfort. I keep this vest in my work bag so it’s always there when I need it. It’s extremely packable and durable and provides ample warmth. Found myself in a tangle of thorns at a clients house recently and didn’t suffer a single tear in the fabric. I love the inner security pocket and love even more that it has a zipper to close it. Wouldn’t change a thing.

I bought the vest in brown as a Christmas gift for my son. He loved it so much I purchased another one in gray for him. It looks great and is not bulky ,pairs great with a sweatshirt.Highly recommend!

It was a gift for my teenage granddaughter and she LOVES it! We were outside in windy 31 degree weather waiting to eat at the new In & Out (!), and she was very comfortable. Thank you for creating clothing that a teenager likes. She would like another one in a different color!

Love love love this Best I bought one for myself last year I am a woman and it fits wonderfully the women’s clothes are often just to fit it in not as designed for work so this is perfect then I got it for my brother for his birthday and extra-large he just loves it the chest pocket on the left fits your smart phone perfectly then inside zipper pocket for keys and two outside pockets easy to slip your hands into it’s just a great great light weight but warm layer and not. I ordered one for each of my kids for Christmas and also ordered one for another friend way to go as usual Carhartt as heavy and stiff as the duck cloth. This is the second vest I have had in this configuration. The 1st lasted about 4 years wearing it about 200 days a year. Very good quality and comfortable.

I love this vest. It’s very comfortable, warm and lightweight. I’m very active and wear it all the time. It’s light enough to wear under a jacket, but also warm enough to wear by itself in our new england weather. I highly recommend it and would buy it again. However, the main zipper has never been real easy to connect. Now, its not able to fit and stay in the slot at all and now I can’t zip it up at all.

A must have. I use it as a liner under my heavy rain defender hoodie when temps hit mid 30’s. I also purchased the long sleeve jacket. Super warm and cozy. I wish the jacket hat zippered pit vents.

Great overall vest. I am 5’8″ around 250lbs; stocky/muscular build. I normally wear 2X in shirts and didn’t plan on layering the vest, so I ordered a 2X based on other reviews. It fits and I can comfortably wear a long sleeve tee/thermal underneath; which is what I wanted. Something else that might help taller men, if you are over 6’2″-ish you may want to consider the tall version. Although it works for me, this vest runs on the shorter side. Vest runs more of an athletic/thin fit. If you plan to layer it, definitely order a size up.

I love this vest. It’s comfortable, warm and a perfect weight. I’m very active and wear it all the time, everywhere. It’s light enough to wear under a jacket, but also warm enough to wear by itself in our 40+ windy weather. I highly recommend it and would buy it again.

Had my last one for nearly 6 years of work use. Zipper started to fail so it was time for the next one.
Same vest with one small change that I noticed. There is a liner on the backside of the collar that I don’t care for. Hair sticks to it and needs cleared off.
Other than that very happy.

Great fit, not too tight. Love the high collar and the snap pockets, easier to get things in and out of for work. Perfect warmth to wear alone or under a rain coat or winter shell. I got a medium, 5’5 and 160. It lives in my truck and I am out everyday with it on job sites and at our many lumber yards. Highly recommended!

Fit is snug. If you don’t like a very fitted vest, you should definitely size up. I’m 5’8” 145lbs and I usually wear a small. This is a slim fit, not a relaxed fit by any means. The length is where it should be. I like the fit, but if you’re a bigger guy who is used to how most other Carhartt products fit, you will definitely want to go a size up. The vest is high quality though. I love that it has tons of pockets. I’ve worn it almost every day since I received it. It’s summer so I can’t speak on how warm it will be in the colder months in the Pacific Northwest, but it feels substantially warm.

Light weight and comfortable fit, this was the perfect jacket for our recent trip to Bergen, Norway. I especially like the pockets. They’re great for travel docs and necessary accessories while transiting airports and touring the fjords and sites at our destination.
